David Hale Powell, age 68, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on February 28, 2026 at Bradley Medical Center.
David was born to the late Harold Powell and Nora Azilee Hill on April 10, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a laborer at a local Carpet Mill where he was a hard worker.
He had a big heart for animals, especially his chihuahua, "Fonzie", whom was always by his side. David was a kind, quiet man and will be missed by his cherished loved ones.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Powell and Nora Azilee Hill as well as his previous spouse, Charlotte Ricker.
Survivors include his sisters, Carol Kennedy, Elizabeth Boles, Diane "Sis"; his brothers, Johnny Powell, Jerry Powell, Michael Hill, and Lloyd Powell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
There will be a joint visitation held in David's honor alongside his brother, Johnny Powell, who passed just shortly after David. The family will receive guests on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 8:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Gary King at the chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Athens, TN.
