David Leroy Price, a devoted family man and respected community servant, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 7, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas, David was an alumnus of Shawnee Heights High School, graduating in 1970. He committed his life to service and helping others, a passion that led him to a career as an Emergency Medical Technician with MediVac from 1977 until 1994. His dedication to public safety extended beyond his professional life as he volunteered with the Shawnee Heights Fire Department. From 1988 until 2001, he served as the Assistant Chief of Fire for Mission Township Fire Department, and later, he proudly held the position of Chief of Fire for Prairie Band Fire Department from 2001 until his retirement in 2008. His contributions to these departments were significant and left a lasting impact on the community he cherished.

Beyond his professional achievements, David was also deeply committed to his church and the local community. He served as the Director of Facilities at Fellowship Bible Church in Topeka, where he combined his professional skills with his faith, contributing to the growth and wellbeing of his congregation.

David's hobbies reflected his zest for life; he loved to play golf and enjoyed scuba diving. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He cherished the memories created with his daughter, Kelly Barnes; son, Adam (Abigail) Price; and his delightful grandchildren, Trysten Barnes, Kaydence Barnes, Eleanor Price, and Madison Price.

David is survived by his brothers, Paul Price and Steve Price, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Price and Margaret (Wright) Price.

David Leroy Price leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and love that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire and bring solace to his family and friends in the days to come.

Cremation is planned. The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
