David Ernest Price, born December 4, 1951, in
Farmington, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, after a long season of illness, supported faithfully by his wife Cathy.
David was the son of Willard and Coy Price, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the fourth of six children in a close-knit family that included Don (Pat), Julia (Wayne) Harvell, Sylvia (Ricky) Shelton, Sherry (Robert) Smith, and Cyndi (Clyde) Lewis. Growing up as the son of a preacher, David's family moved frequently, living in many different places during his childhood. These early years shaped his adaptability, work ethic, and faith.
David met the love of his life, Cathy Denise Willis, when he began attending Bellaire Church of Christ in the Houston area. They were married on November 1, 1975, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past November - a milestone marked by devotion, partnership, and mutual love.
David was a man of faith and long-standing commitment to his church family. He and Cathy began attending Kleinwood Church of Christ at its inception and remained members there for over 45 years. He also enjoyed golfing and valued time spent with friends and family.
Professionally, David was gifted with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong mind for business. His career spanned three major paths:
Banking: He spent many years as a Loan Officer for a Savings and Loan, where he was not only respected professionally but also actively involved in the community, including coaching the institution's women's softball team.
Technology: David started his business ComSoft, an innovative IT company that built custom computers before large manufacturers dominated the market. As the industry evolved, he transitioned into networking solutions through his company, On-Site Help, providing technology support to businesses throughout the Houston area. He also found success in network marketing and made many lifelong long friends along the way.
Insurance: Later in his career, David worked in the insurance field, customizing insurance solutions for businesses and associations.
In his later years, David faced significant health challenges. Throughout that season, his wife Cathy served as his primary caregiver with extraordinary love, patience, and unwavering dedication.
David is survived by his wife, Cathy Price; his sons, Dustin Price and wife Lindsey, and their son Logan; and Ryan Price and wife Anna, and their children Ryder, Parker, Isla, and Tessa; his grandchildren Brady and Grayson Conrad, sons of his late daughter Amber Conrad and her former husband Steven Conrad, who has remained a loving presence in their lives; and his sisters Judy Harvell, Sylvia and husband Ricky Shelton, and Cyndi Lewis.
David was preceded in death by his daughter Amber Conrad, his brother Don Price, his sister Sherry Smith, and his parents Willard and Coy Price.
David will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful Christian, and determined entrepreneur whose life reflected hard work, resilience, and generosity.
