Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mr. David C. Price, Sr of Louisville, Ga. David passed away March 27, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 1st at Taylor Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00. Funeral Service will be Thursday afternoon, April 2nd at 2:00 at the Chapel at Taylor Funeral Home with interment following in the Louisville City Cemetery.
Those honoring David as Pallbearers include Jay Smith, Todd Smith, Allan Sasser, Anton Durrah, Michael Adkin and Joey Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Fluor Title III Engineers and Designers.
David was born in Sandersville, Ga to Clark and Phyllis Price. The family moved to Louisville when David was entering the second grade.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sheila Chalker Price and numerous other family members.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years, Gwen Otis Price, two sons, David C. Price, Jr of Phoenix, Arizona and Stephen Price (Ann) of Gainesville, Florida. Two daughters, Jill Smith (Jay) of Louisville and Whitney Deriso of Augusta. Six Grandchildren, Becca Smith (Ian), Todd Smith (Nancy), Courtney Story (Daniel), all of Louisville, Savanna Tidwell of Augusta, Lauren Smith (Cal) of Swainsboro and Bailey Smith (Alex) of Hephzibah. 10 Great grandchildren. His Father-in-Law, Frank Williford Sisters, Wynell Price Taylor (Carrol) and Sheila Price Croy (Floyd). Numerous nieces and nephews.
He helped his father during the summer, building various things. That’s where David got his love of construction. After graduating High School, he entered Southern Technical Institute – Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology. This degree has enabled him to work and live all over the country. In the last ten years some of those positions were at Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Ga, Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico and most recently his position with Fluor as Title III Civil Discipline Lead at Savanna River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. He absolutely loved his job and the people that he worked with. David also served as weekend delivery boy for Delightful Designs by Gwen, which he also loved. David is a member of Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville, Florida where he served as deacon chairman for 5 years.
