David Wayne Prince passed away on April 11, 2025, in DeKalb, Texas. He was born on January 31, 1962, in Texarkana and spent the last 6 years of his life in Palestine, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father James H. Prince, mother Barbara Jean Prince, and grandson Caden James Jiminez.
David was a graduate of New Boston High School, Class of 1980. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Later in life he worked as a correctional officer at the Lewis C. Powledge Unit in Palestine which he thoroughly enjoyed. David was a true entrepreneur at heart, and also owned and operated several businesses throughout his life.
David was known for his generous spirit and infectious sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Jennifer Knight and her husband Lee Knight; His son David Bryan Prince and wife Hannah Prince; and grandchildren Jubilee Rayne Prince and Jedidiah David Prince.
David is also remembered by his three older brothers: James W. Prince of New Boston Texas and wife Chong Hee Prince; Terry Prince of DeKalb Texas and wife Becky Prince; Ronald Prince of Malta Texas and wife Judy Prince. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Davids legacy lives on through the laughter he inspired and the kindness he shared with all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held Monday April 14, 2025, at 1:00 with services immediately following at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston Texas. Graveside services will be held at Old Union cemetery in Simms, Texas.
