In Loving Memory of David Pula
David Pula, born on July 15, 1940, passed away peacefully July 17, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was 84 years old.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Shelly Dee (Drescher), who stood by his side through life's many adventures and challenges. He was a proud and loving father to his children Pamela Jean, Angela Kay (husband Jim Rust), Brenda Lynn, and John Allen (wife Lauren), who brought joy and pride to David's life. He was also cherished by his stepson Barry.
His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, whom he adored: Matthew, Micheal, Christopher, Kendra, Sydney, Jennifer, Laura, Stephanie, and Deborah. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he was always their biggest supporter.
David was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Kay and wife, Sonja Annette, both of whom he held dear in his heart until his final days. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Micheal Pula and Leona Iva (Rubash), and seven siblings and is survived by three siblings: Karl, Garey, and Linda.
David was known for his incredible sense of humor- even through his final moments of life. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him laugh, brightening even the darkest days with his wit and charm. His jokes and stories will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
David was born and raised in the Kelliher - Waskish area, where he developed a deep love for his community. The strong bonds and friendships he formed there remained close to his heart throughout his life. David also lived in Montana, Michigan, and Alaska, where he made lasting memories and connections with the people he met along the way, but was always drawn back to his beloved community in Northern Minnesota.
A skilled Mason by trade, David took great pride in his work. His craftsmanship can be seen in the many buildings and structures he helped create. His dedication to his craft was admired by colleagues and friends alike, and his work ethic was an inspiration to many.
David had a passion for hunting, both with rifle and bow and arrow. He shared this love with those around him, creating many fond memories and cherished moments in the great outdoors.
In accordance with David's wishes, there will not be a formal memorial service. Instead, a private family gathering will be held at his gravesite to celebrate his life and legacy.
Rest in peace, David Pula. Your legacy of love and laughter will never be forgotten.
