David M Reavis

David M. Reavis, 58, of Julian, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born August 22, 1967, in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of Linda (Holbrook) Seifried, of Greensboro, and the late William Reavis. On October 9, 2004, he married Blythe L. Jackson, who survives at home.

David was a 1986 graduate of Ben L. Smith High School. Following graduation, he worked as a commercial roofer for five years before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 21 years. He made the Navy his career, serving as a recruiter based in Raleigh, North Carolina, before moving to Virginia. During his service, he deployed aboard the USS George Washington for six months in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He later continued his recruiting work in Seattle, Washington, where he retired with an honorable discharge in 2012.

After retiring from military service, David remained active, taking on various jobs and projects. He especially cherished time spent with his family-traveling together, playing board games, and coloring with his children. He also enjoyed taking walks with his beloved canine companion, Draco.

David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in State College.

In addition to his mother and his wife, he is survived by his seven children: Dillon M. Reavis and his wife, Katie, of Washington; Dixie L. Reavis and her partner, Alexa Santos, of Washington; Dustin M. Reavis of Julian; Dalton M. Reavis of Julian; Daizee L. Reavis of Julian; Dashiell M. Reavis of Julian; and Declan M. Reavis of Julian. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Grayson, Adikin, and Autumn.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert S. Carringan III.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 9, 2026, at 1pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 842 W. Whitehall Road, State College.

As his wife, my heart is broken, but I am forever grateful for the love, life, and beautiful family we built together. The 24 years we shared were the greatest blessing of my life, and I will carry his love with me always.
