GUTTENBERG, IOWA

David Dale Reynolds, 82, of Guttenberg, Iowa, passed away on November 13, 2025. David was born on October 23, 1943, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Cecil and Bernice Reynolds. David married his high school sweetheart, Karen Hanna, on November 5, 1960. David and Karen had 3 boys, Jeffrey, Gregory and Brenton.

Private inurnment will be held at Forrest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Following high school, David attended Iowa State University for 2 years. He then took a job at Purina Feeds in Anita, Iowa. After 2 years David decided on a career in law enforcement and entered the Iowa State Patrol Academy. Upon graduation he was assigned to Post 2 in Osceola, Ia. David and family remained in Osceola until he obtained his private pilot license and moved to a position as a Pilot for the Patrol. The family moved to Lakewood, Iowa in 1977 to be near the Des Moines Airport. David eventually was promoted to Sergeant around 1990 and was assigned to Spencer, Iowa for 2 years before returning to Osceola for the last few years at the Patrol. David retired in 1998 from the Patrol and worked as a Federal Marshal at the Federal Building in Des Moines for a few more years. He then retired and David and Karen moved from Iowa to Harrison, Arkansas. They spent many years in their RV traveling the country. Karen passed away in 2018. After a few more years in Arkansas, David purchased a house in Guttenberg, Iowa where he remained until his health forced him into assisted living. We are left with many loving memories of a father and friend.

David is survived by his children, Jeff and (Sandy) Reynolds, Earlham, Iowa; Greg and (Tammy) Reynolds, Argyle, Iowa; Brent and (Patty) Reynolds, Guttenberg, Iowa; grandchildren Jamie, Devin, Alexis, Serena, Kiersten, Allyson and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a private graveside service in Oskaloosa for the family at a future date. Memorials can be sent to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or to the Animal Rescue League.
