David Ristagno Obituary

David Francis Ristagno, 71, formerly of West Pittston, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022.

Known by his close friends as "Butchie," he was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Pittston, to the late Anthony and Bridget DiBella Ristagno.

Dave was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from King's College.

Dave was most well-known for his role as a baker in the local community. You could find him at both Ristagno's Bakery, Exeter, and D. Ristagno's Bakery, Dunmore.

Throughout his life, David was a man of faith and proud member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.

In his spare time, Dave was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan. With that said, his favorite pastime was when he would spend time with family, especially his grandchildren. He truly enjoyed spending his free time at his grandchildren's events, especially football games.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann Crispino; brothers, Anthony and Joseph Ristagno and James Rucco; sisters, Jean Sperazza, Kathleen Butera, Mary Kay Chopyak and Jean Marie Brooks (twin sister).

Surviving are his son, David Ristagno; daughter, Bridget and husband, David Cabets; grandsons, Nicholas and Nathaniel Cabets; granddaughters, Caterina and Sophia Ristagno; his companion, Carol Barber; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Twp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corpus Christi Parish, Exeter, with Monsignor John J. Sempa officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to service time. Interment services will follow the service in Italian American Cemetery, Davis Street, Scranton.

remember him very well. A really nice kid ate all the rolls his father would give us for free on our way to the fishing hole. A real great guy and father.
