Fred Davey

Dave and I were very close in the early 2000´s and many years after I retired from NASA in 2007. We did similar work. In fact, he introduced me into the budget world. We played badminton quite often. I teamed with Wayne Tankesley and together we could never beat him. He also introduced me to Zydeco dancing. There was a group of us that together we had the best times dancing to Zydeco music. Dave and Gloria Karr were frequently featured in Huntsville monthly glossy magazines. He was known as Dancing Dave. After a vigorous badminton game, we´d convene at the Redstone Golf Club patio and quaff expensive German and Belgium beers. The serenity of the golf course with great friends and beer was almost heaven. I will remember him always.

I was fortunate to know David from working with him at NASA. I knew him several years before I became his supervisor during the last few years before my retirement. He was a very pleasant, easy-going person, and the easiest person to work with and supervise. He was always top notch, and I got praise from his customers. I enjoyed our talks together about life, dancing, and of course, beer. I'm extremely sorry that we lost him so young. You are missed! Love, Wanda

Dave was a coworker and a dear friend. He was there for me when I was going through a divorce and helped me get out and meet new friends and enjoy life again. His sense of humor and easy laughter will be missed.
