David was a devoted and adoring husband to Posey, and he loved her with all of his heart. He was an extraordinarily proud father who loved his children unconditionally, and he was their hero. David worked for Roadway Express after graduating from college, with stops in Augusta, GA, Gastonia, NC and Meridian, MS, before going to work for Omni Services in Culpeper, VA in 1989. In 1996, he returned to Charleston and worked in chemical sales, retiring from Colonial Chemical Solutions in 2018.
David lived every day to serve others and participated in a variety of service projects throughout his life. He was especially passionate about supporting initiatives started by his children. He was a devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church where he ushered and served in various ministries. He sought daily to bring happiness and joy to everyone around him.
David spent the last year of his life at Ashley Gardens Memory Care where he continued to entertain and bring smiles to all. The Royall family owes a debt of gratitude to the caregivers from Ashley Gardens, Fox Rehab, and Crescent Hospice, who loved him and treated him with the utmost respect and care.
