David Scates Obituary
Memorial services for Mr. David Scates will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Central Avenue Christian Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held prior from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Scates, 77, passed away June 28, 2024, at his home in Humboldt.
He was born in Brownsville, TN to the late Dan Scates and Sue (Younger) Scates. David was an active member of Central Ave. Christian Church; was retired from the State of Tennessee where he worked in tax enforcement; member of SonShiners Choir and the Scates Family Gospel Group.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 51 years, Brenda Scates.
He is survived by his son, Brad Scates and wife Melanie; daughter, Jennifer Warren; sister, Carol House and husband Carl; grandchildren, Hunter and Laura Beth Scates.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to SonShiners Choir, The Church at Sugar Creek, 3400 East Mitchell Street, Humboldt, TN 38343, in David’s memory.
