David Schiessl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services on Jan. 2, 2026.
David Carl Schiessl, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 31st, after facing his health complications with strength, perseverance, and quiet determination.

David was caring, kind, and private by nature - organized, thoughtful, and reserved, yet known by those closest to him for a unique sense of humor. He had a way of saying unexpected, silly things that brought lightness and warmth without ever seeking attention. He wasn't one to make a fuss or want anyone to go out of their way for him, which somehow made his kindness even more meaningful.

He loved riding his motorcycle and the sense of freedom it brought, often sharing that joy with others. Some of his most meaningful rides were alongside his sister Debbie and her late husband, Roger.

Above all else, David was a family man. He loved being a father and remained deeply devoted to his daughter, always offering steady support, unconditional love, and quiet reassurance. He stayed connected with his family, no matter their location, believing that family was something to be cared for-no matter the distance.

David is survived by his daughter, Kristin Drew; his four sisters, Kimberly Rostek and her husband Paul Rostek, Debrah Kraft-Smith, Joanne Arcouette, and Margaret Gates; along with many nieces and nephews as well as his lifelong best friend, Kenneth Stevenson, whose friendship began at a young age and remained a constant throughout David's life. Kenneth and his wife, Jane Stevenson, were treasured parts of David's extended family.

David will be remembered as a quiet hero-steady, loyal, and strong. He faced every challenge with resolve and never stopped fighting. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the relationships he protected, and the calm strength he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

Relatives and friends may join his family during calling hours on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield.
