David John Seaman, 80, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Concord Healthcare in Lakewood, New Jersey.
He is predeceased by his devoted wife Georgia in 2023, his parents William and Kathryn Seaman, brothers Armond, Wayne, Barry, Joseph and William and sisters Lena, Kathryn and Myrtle.
He leaves behind his loving daughter Deborah J. Seaman of Manchester, New Jersey and his beloved sister Mary Wood of Toms River and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
David was a Laborer/Foreman for the Heavy and General Laborer's Union Local 172, Newark, New Jersey for many years. He moved to Florida in 1981 and worked on a dairy farm and subsequently started his own small landscaping business from which he retired.
He honorably served in the United States Army as a member of Company B 577th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam during the years of 1965 to 1967.
David was an avid gunowner, member of the NRA, enjoyed skeet shooting and by all accounts couldn't be defeated at the ranges.
Most importantly, David was member of the First Baptist Church, Belleview, Florida, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He volunteered for humanitarian work, Helping Hands and the food pantry. One of his brethren from the First Baptist Church wrote, "Dave was a good man. He was fair, helpful and a true FRIEND.". Above all he should also be remembered for his humor and jovial nature. He had a peculiar way of looking at life and was very funny. He will be remembered for his warm smile and sparkling blue eyes.
David will be inurned at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with his beloved wife Georgia. He will receive Military Funeral Honors. A Celebration of Life will be held in Florida on a date to be determined.
