In memory of

David Brandon Sechrest

Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

May 2, 2012

Dear Sechrests,
I just began thinking about David and the impact he had on so many lives when he was in school. I know it's been a few years since the tragic accident, but I would like to say that I'm sorry for the loss that you have suffered, but I know he still touches lives. Not as a fellow student and friend, but as an angel. Watching over you, and everyone else he loved. He will forever be in my thoughts, and you will forever be in my prayers.
Sincerely, a friend.

I have only recently found out of Davids death and would like to extend my deepest sorrow. I have had the honor of playing golf with him in the past and can honestly say he has helped my game as well. I know he was a good guy and will be missed dearly.

I'm sorry for your loss, Sechrests. I spent a lot of countless times being stuck at home and would walk up to the golf course up the street to find David. He was a great guy and we all miss him. I miss his golfer-hugs and that grin he always had but I know he wouldn't want us to cry because he was gone, but to be happy that he made a great impact on us. When he saw me not smiling, he'd force me to smile and I know if he would have saw the face I had on Sept23 he would have attacked me with tickling and goofy inside jokes we had. He was a wonderful guy.

To the Sechrest family I am so sorry for your loss. David was a very special young man. I will remember him and his sense of humor always and his kindness to both of my daughters. I will always remember his cute little grin even back from pre-school. My daughter Jessica has known him since pre-school and we all think of him everyday and we continue to lift you all up in prayer. love Sheila Nance & family

The Sechrest family:
I am a student from Rockingham, even though i hardly knew youre son, this week has been unbelievably hard for me. I couldnt even imagine how you must be feeling, just know that even though David is no longer with us he is still loved and missed at our school. I saw your family Tuesday and Wednsday, please know we are all supporting you at this time and we are there for you at anytime you need us. David was special to us all even if we werent close friends. God has proven to us that he only takes the best and even though we may not understand, he has a reason for taking David from us. So stay strong and remember that David will be greatly missed.

Pat,
I remember all our conversations this summer, as we supported our sons on the golf course and listened to their golf dreams and goals...you.... walking hole to hole, me...waiting on 9 and 18. The last tournament in September, when David and Dana were playing side by side is most memorable. I can see your smile as you told me how you would never miss a round. You supported David and Dana as they played that day..you cheered for my son as well as your own.....My heart breaks for you and your family and I can only imagine that your heart is shattered. David was always so friendly...and Dana so enjoyed being paired up with him. You saw every round, every hole, every second you spent on the course can be cherished close to your heart. You WERE there. And yet, I know..this isn't enough...you weren't finished watching him. I am so sorry that God had this in His plan..we grieve with you, we pray daily, we will miss David. Dana has been profoundly affected by this news and he prays daily too.

i dont know you, or your family but i do know how it feels to lose a loved one. Almost a year ago i lost one of my best friends who was sweet and well-mannered and a good christian teen who had his whole life to live. When he died I could not find out why, he was the last person that deserved to die. But his death brought a lot of people together and showed many people the way to Christ. I know that losing a friend is nothing compared to losing a family member or a son. But I just wanted you to know that you will get through the hard times and God will make this terrible accident into something great. You are in my prayers.--

David was such a great guy he always treated people with respect and cared about them. I have known him since elementry school and was in band with him from 6th grade till 10th. I remember alot of fun times with him in band either just hearing him tell us something funny and making us blast out laughing or just being david or seeing how much he cared. He will always live on in my memory and my heart and never be forgotten. I am sure he is up in heaven right now looking down on us. He will be missed but never forgotten.
