David Louis Shaner, age 55, of

family surrounding him.
David was born on February 1, 1970, in
Toledo, Ohio to Sherry (Shaner) Kleinert and Cloyd McDonald. He
grew up finding joy and love in the little things and family traditions that carried out throughout his life. David
attended many churches throughout his life with his wife and family before making Compelled Church in
Temperance, MI home for the last several years.
He is survived by his wife Mindy (Kronk) Shaner, and his three Children: Corin (Ron) Newland (Grandchildren
Evely and Stetson), Nicholas, and Rachael, all of whom were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister
Amy (Jay) Gorr, and other close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Sherry and his
adoptive father Ron Shaner.
He attended State Line Christian School, Toledo Public Schools, and graduated from Start High School, where
he played baseball and football. He graduated from the class of 1988 before spending some time at Owens
College. Shortly after he began working for Furniture Row and his career took off there. His career took him
and his family from
Toledo, Ohio to, Indianna, Wisconsin, and Colorado before coming back home to
Temperance/Toledo area for the last few years to be with family.
David dedicated over 31 years to Furniture Row. His hard work and determination help make his path from
working in the Warehouse, Sales on the Showroom Floor, Store Manager, Regional Manager, Corporate
Manager West Region, and lastly as the Commercial Property Realtor/Acquisitionist for the company. His job
allowed him to travel the country (taking several trips with his wife Mindy) and build relationships with many
different people, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Outside of work, David enjoyed going camping with his family and dogs to several parks, fishing and hunting
with his son Nicholas, going on Daddy-daughter dates with his daughters Corin and Rachel, and going to many
Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos Games. He loved getting together with friends and family over the years
and you could often find him either by the grill, pool, or playing Corn Hole. David dedicated his life to
supporting his wife, kids, and all his family doing everything he could to be there for him.
David and Mindy donated much time and resources to the Children's Program at Compelled Church over their
