Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium - BoscawenOn March 22, 2026, David B. Shedd made a peaceful transition from this life to life everlasting! His parents Howard and Elizabeth Shedd, his brothers Deane, Donald, and Douglas, and his son Timothy preceded him to heaven. What a reunion they must be having!
David was born in Concord, NH, and lived most of his life in New Hampshire. He and his brothers spent much of their youth with grandparents who loved and doted on them. Their summers were filled with activity such as: swimming, boating, and waterskiing at Grandfather Brower's cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee. It was an idyllic childhood filled with amazing memories.
In early adulthood David joined the National Guard, where he proudly served his country for nine years. A few years later he came to a turning point, realizing his need for God's help and forgiveness, and this decision changed the trajectory of his life. He began attending a local church, serving as a deacon, member of the finance committee, and a facilitator for the Men's Fellowship. Several years later the family became regular attendees at Trinity Bible Church where they worshipped together for the next forty-two years.
When his sons Timothy and David A. joined the Boy Scouts, David volunteered as a scout leader and eventually became a Boy Scout Commissioner. His love of the outdoors carried over into family life with weekends spent kayaking and camping.
David was a dedicated worker whose final years at Colonial Pharmacy delivering medicine gave him great satisfaction. He loved making sure customers got what they needed.
Above all, David was a faithful, loving husband. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris (Stafford) Shedd; his children Pamela Nowell (Fred), David A. Shedd (Emilee), Andrea Salzman (Scott), and Alicia Shedd; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
David will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 2:00pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. Following the burial, a celebration of David's life will be held at Trinity Bible Church, 539 Route 114, South Sutton, NH, at 4 PM.
