David Shell

David was a gift to us all at San Damiano. I have many very warm memories of the short year that we worked together. One of David's comments, when we reviewed or talked about a new project, was "I can do that". David was the ultimate "can-do" Franciscan. His spirit was proclaimed in his work, which was always excellent.

One thing I will always remember about David is that while everyone around him was asking for his help, he never asked for help. As mentioned above, David had exceptional skills as a multi-craftsman none of us could ever match. As dedicated as he was to his faith, he was also dedicated to his job. I'll miss David sharing time over lunch and dinner in the staff dining room. ~ dudley
