Shope, David L., 76, Saltillo, passed away April 14, 2025, at Embassy Woodland Park Orbisonia, PA. Born February 10, 1949, son of Doris Jean (Fleck) and the late David L. Shope. Survived by children, Dana Whitsel and husband, Ronnie of Orbisonia; Erica Gahagan and husband Brian of Three Springs; brother, Dale Shope and wife, Debra; Sister Deanna Anderson and husband, Rick; 4 grandchildren, Tia Keebaugh and husband, Nathan; Derrick Whitsel and wife, Paige; Jase Gahagan, and Caleb Gahagan; 6 great grandchildren, Levi, Landry, Hope, Harlynn, Hattie, and Lennox. Preceded in death by daughter, Heather Shope. David graduated from Southern Huntingdon Area High School, class of 1967. He went on to work and retire from Mechanicsburg Navy Depot after being transferred from Letterkenny Amy Depot. He enjoyed watching Phillies baseball, college softball, and playing fast pitch softball in his early years. David loved his cat, Storm, and spending time with his family. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
