David Shorrock, 84, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
David was born on June 26, 1941, in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, to Norman and Dorothy Kendall Shorrock. He was a lifelong engineer and an early pioneer in the aviation Flight Simulation Industry. He moved his wife and three children to the United States in 1974, to pursue the American dream. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and had a passion for his hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. As a young man in England, he enjoyed playing rugby and cricket, sailing, golfing, and building and flying RC airplanes. He was a proud member of the DeLand Golden Hawks RC Club.
David met the love of his life, Valerie Ann Wales, while attending Weymouth Grammar School in England. They shared nearly 61 wonderful years of marriage together in two countries.
David is survived by his wife Valerie Shorrock; his son Jason Shorrock (Tara); his daughter Amanda Weaver (James); many beloved grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Shorrock (Shawn & Ginny) and his sister Barbara French.
