David Sire Obituary

David "Dave" Lee Sire (Age 72)

December 17, 1950 - October 18, 2023

Dave Sire, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and best friend, passed away in Colorado Springs, CO on October 18, 2023 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Dave was born in Great Falls, Montana, and while growing up, worked on the family farm. He went on to achieve a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University. After working in the engineering field for 34+ years, he returned to his roots in farming at the D&D Sire Farms in Geraldine, Montana.

Dave lived life to the fullest. His was a life filled with passion. He enjoyed refereeing sports of all types and did so for 48 years! His hobbies not only included sports; he was also a fervent collector, chasing collectibles of all sorts, such as comics and trading cards, with a passion that would then ignite that same flame in thousands of others. And, Dave lives on in all of them!

Above all else, it could be said that Dave was an incredibly devoted husband and friend. He would do anything to protect those he loved and would VERY often go out of his way by incredible lengths for said loved ones.

With his one-of-a-kind personality, and certainly one-of-a-kind sense of humor, Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dave was preceeded in death by his parents Tom & Joyce Sire, son Kyle Sire, and Brother and Sister-in-law Dennis & Jennea Sire. He is survived by his wife Margo, children Kacie(Tyrone) Hoard and Ryan(Coley) Sire, stepkids Rob Brown and Jeni(Troy) Torres, Grandkids Taylor, Taj, Tayvian, Teagen, Teayona, Tylee, Ryker, Dayson & Kayven, Great grandchild Quincy and Best Friend...Michael.

Cremation arrangements by Springs Funeral Services, Colorado Springs, CO. Burial in Fort Benton Riverside Cemetary at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Dedman Animal Shelter in Fort Benton.

What good neighbor that man was to us across the backyard fence...just can see him mowing his beautiful yard and plowing our snow with his much loved little tractor...will always think of him as we look toward the brick house...take care, Margo.

Dave was like another brother from sharing 12 years in the Belt School system, the Tiger Butte school bus, neighbor's and many 4th of July picnic's at Andy's plus 4 years more at MSU. We did not always agree on any given subject but I always knew he had my back when it counted. My sympathy to all the family.

Margo, so sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. From attending college with Dave to both of us working at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, we had a lot of fun times. But my absolute most favorite time was when playing bridge with him. Nobody else could figure out our bidding, but for some crazy reason we understood each others unorthodox bidding. David Ostby
