David Lloyd Skupin was born April 29, 1947 to Emil Skupin and Hattie Engbrock Skupin in Rosebud, Texas. He attended Rosebud schools all 12 years and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1965. He graduated from North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) in 1970 with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Arts. David married Sharon Lucko in 1970. He taught industrial arts in Galena Park, Texas for two years before returning to Rosebud where he farmed with his dad, Emil.
David enjoyed his morning coffee with longtime friends at Comalitos and especially loved playing dominoes with family and close friends. He will be remembered for his unassuming nature, quiet sense of humor, and love of family. David served on the BFM Coop Board of Directors and was currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the First United Methodist Church, Rosebud.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother Robert Skupin.
Survivors include his wife of Rosebud; daughter Lisa of Burnet, TX; son James of Gambrills, MD; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is set for 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church (102 East Main, Rosebud, TX 76570). Arrangements provided by Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home of Rosebud.
