A Celebration of Life is being planned for Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday October 27th at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday.

I first got to know David when he was in junior high and had a part in a play. My roommate was the director and I helped out with the make-up.
Later he was in my physics class and masking taped the lab one day when I was gone.
I have reconnected with David in recent years on Facebook and have new memories of him. He was a great kid and a fine man. I shall miss our online visits.

I remember back to the great flood of 1997. There were so many news reporter following members of the fire dept. and getting in the way. Smig told us to send them to city hall for updates. Smig was a natural when speaking to reporters. RIP.
