David Steffen

David "Dave" Steffen, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 71. He was born on February 6, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Rolla and Marjorie (Lytle) Steffen.

Dave was a graduate of Mason Consolidated High School in Erie, Michigan. Early in his working life, he and his father owned and operated a gas station. For most of his career, he worked on the assembly line at Jeep, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.

Outside of work, Dave enjoyed spending time working in the yard and doing home improvement projects. He was a loyal supporter of the Genoa Comets and loved attending their sporting events. While cooking was not one of his passions, he was a familiar face at Applebee's and Bob Evans and had a special fondness for Mel-O-Creme. In their younger years, Dave and his wife, Ruth, shared many happy hours line dancing together. He and Ruth also loved taking trips down the Blue Ridge Parkway and out West. Dave took a trip this year to visit two 90-year-old aunts. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Dave is survived by his brothers, Terry Steffen and Jim (Gloria) Steffen; his children, Linda (Keith) Steffen and Aaron Steffen; his stepchildren, Larry (Diane) Blausey and Gary (Dawn) Blausey; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Steffen; his parents, Rolla and Marjorie Steffen; and his brother, Gary Steffen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00am at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, Ohio. A funeral ceremony will take place at 11:00am. Memorial donations in Dave's honor may be made to the Genoa Athletic Boosters.
