I just found out that David passed away. I am so sorry. David was such a kind man and I admired him so much. I think of all of you often Karlyn. All my love.

I share your feeling of loss for David. He was such a wise, kind, brave example for all of us. He saw wrongs and worked to right them, he saw need and worked to fill it. His is a hard loss to bear, but I hope the family knows how much he was loved and respected and will find comfort in wonderful memories of sailing, travel, and adventure as well as the knowledge of all the good he accomplished.

Right now I have such a vivid memory, Karlyn, of your story (on our way to Perkinston to register voters) about Katrina and your family! It all started with David's wanting to make sure the hazardous waste was tucked safely away with the DEQ. And then David's trying to shore up the walls, and then all of you urging one another to keep a chin up while spending 12 hours perched in live oaks. What an inspiring, terrifying, exhilarating, dreadful experience you all had. I will remember him in that Katrina hero role.

Sorry to loose a wonderful friend that I have known since 1963. Had the privilege of working on the Back Bay Mission board under his wonderful leadership. May he rest in Peace.

Sorry to hear of David's passing. A great memory was made when all of you stayed with us years ago in Monahans, Tx on your way to taking Aunt Pearl to the Big Bend National Park. I know David will be missed greatly in your community.
