David Stronsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James Funeral Home on Feb. 24, 2026.
David L. Stronsky, MD, 83, of Huntersville, formerly of Lorain, Ohio, died on Sunday, February 22, at his home in North Carolina. David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne (Bonk), children Tiffany (Scott Brown), Leon (Tracy Yu Stronsky), and Sarah; and grandchildren Sofia, Stella, and Ania Lee Stronsky, and Andrew and Evan Barker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Leo, and sister, Karen (Rowley).

David was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and uncle. He was an avid tennis player and jokester growing up in Lorain, where he met Joanne. His studies led him to the University of Notre Dame, followed by St. Louis University Medical School. He was a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon in St. Louis, and served as a doctor in the U.S. Navy stationed in Guam before returning to St. Louis to work at numerous hospitals. David enjoyed a good laugh, family trips, sunny days on the tennis courts, problem solving, fixing things even if not broken, Cardinals baseball, ND football weekends, Chicago visits, Las Vegas getaways, fruity cocktails, the company of many family dogs and cats, and helping his kids through their many moves.

David's life's work was in providing healing care to his patients. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Make-A-Wish or One Tail at a Time (and specifically requests no flowers).

All services will be private.
