David Testa Obituary
David Roland Testa, age 79, husband of the late Lana J. (Garceau) Testa of Mashpee, MA, died Wednesday July 24th, 2024. He passed away as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on July 6, 2024.
David was born in Milford, the son of the late Joseph T. Testa Sr. and the late Amelia (Iadarola) Testa. He graduated from Milford High School Class of 1963. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam with the Military Police. After returning home he worked at the General Motors plant until joining the Milford Police Department in 1968. He retired in 2002 and split his time living between Cape Cod and Florida. In 2010 Dave and Lana decided to settle down on Cape Cod and moved to Mashpee.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking, traveling to warm and sunny locations, but mostly spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching football with his sons during the N.E. Patriots' Dynasty years.
His loving wife, Lana, of 56 years predeceased him by 18 days. He leaves two "wonderful" sons: Todd D. Testa and wife Beth of Milford, MA and Dustin A. Testa and wife Heather of Mendon, MA. In addition he leaves four "sweet" grandchildren: Lindsey, Lauren, Ashley, and Joe Testa. He is survived by brothers John Testa of Acton, MA and Roy Testa of Hopkinton, MA, sisters Jane (Testa) Burgard of GA and Rosemary (Testa) Rockwood of Palm City, FL and his aunt Madelyn (Testa) Mason of Yarmouth, MA.
David was predeceased by his brother Joseph T. Testa Jr. and sister Florence (Testa) Stratton. He also leaves behind a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to David & Lana's family on Friday (August 2nd) from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
