David Thomas Obituary
Born in York, SC, David was the son of the late James W. Thomas and the late Willie Moore Thomas. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lila of 58 years until her passing in 2013. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Henry, Kell and Phillip Thomas and his two sisters Carolyn Cooke and Becky Moses.
He retired from Knight Publishing Co. as a circulation zone manager.
Him and his wife Lila were long time members of Park Baptist Church in Rock hill, SC.
David is survived by his son, Anthony (Jennifer) Thomas, and his daughter Donna (Lynn) McDaniel. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Kara (Trey) Lesslie, Lyle (Marsha) McDaniel, Kaleigh (Jeremy) McCoy, Christopher, and Lucy Thomas. And five great grandchildren Lily (Noah) Gammons, Kohen Sutton, Lila and Linley McCoy and Oliver McDaniel plus many nieces and nephews.
He was truly the best Dad and Paw Paw and we will carry his love with us always.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Grandview Memorial Park – 620 S Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with the Pastor Jon Jenkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in David's name to Alzheimer's Association, The Heartest Yard and Epilepsy Foundation.
