Mr. David Thomas, Sr. passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024. Age 76 years. David was Born January 6, 1948, in Saginaw, MI, to the late Theodore Daggs Sr. and Mary Lou Thomas.
David was educated in the Saginaw Public School system and received his high school diploma from St. Joseph High School. David accepted Christ at an early age and continued to have a strong interest in theology even in his later years. David started his military career on March 1, 1966, in the Marine Corp. After returning from the Marine Corps, David worked at General Motors for over 30 years. If you knew David, you knew that the military was his world. In addition to being a Vietnam Veteran, David was recognized with multiple awards including a Purple Heart. David was part of the 1st Division Marine Corp, 425th Ranger Company, and a lifetime member of VFW 117. David retired as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army in 2017.
David loved to travel and spend time with his family. His presence would light up a room. His adventurous personality always gave a positive approach to inspiring others.
David leaves to cherish his memory two sons, David Jr. of Saginaw, MI, and Michael of Bay City, MI; one daughter, Zillah Marie; four sisters, Janis, Liska “Cookie”, Lynette, and Deborah; one brother, Carl, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents Theodore Daggs Sr. and Mary Lou Thomas, one son Andrew; and 4 brothers.
