As supervisor of the pediatric cath lab at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Dave was our BBraun rep. Dave was well-respected by myself and our physicians and staff, as his honesty and integrity were evident in every interaction. He was a consummate gentleman. Prayers as Dave is welcomed home by the Father, and to his family and friends that he was surely loved by.

My sincere condolences to Patti and the rest of the Thum family. I was friends with Dave & Patti when they first met in the Chicago suburbs and they were a fun, very friendly couple. Those were some enjoyable years with a great group of people. I hope you are provided with strength and love through your friends, family and faith.

It is a sad time when a person like Dave passes away. There really is no one as wonderful as him. God chose Dave because of the person that he was and the love that we have for him. He will be remembered forever.

I send and love to all of Dave's family may God wrap his arms around you and give you peace and comfort.... I work at Children's Hospital of Michigan and Dave was my favorite vendor!!! He was always so kind and sweet.. We developed a very wonderful friendship!!! He always spoke highly of his wife and family. I could see the love for all of you when he spoke about you... I always teased him he looked like a Ken Barbie doll always so neat and put together and that I bet his was wife was a beautiful woman also. I am so sad I will not be able to see him any more but I know he is with his father watching all of the family that he loved so much!!! God Bless you all and it was a true pleasure to call Dave my friend.

To Dave's family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. Dave was a person I considered a true friend and fraternity bother. He will be missed, not only by family and friends but, by all those people who came in contact with him and had the opportunity to get to know him. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am so so sorry to hear about this. I pray for all of you. Peace will find its way into your lives. It may not seem so right now, but peace will be there.

There are not enough words to say about how much David will be missed. That speaks of the impact that David had and will continue to have on so many lives of the people that knew him, and those that know people that know David.

I first met Dave as he was introduced as Troop 338's Scoutmaster in 2007, and it was evident very early on why he was selected to lead our Troop forward. With Dave's genuine & magnetic personality you wanted to be a part of this organization. And our scouts just loved him....and the adult leaders felt the same. I appreciated how much he wanted the scouts to succeed, but they had to earn it! He followed in the fine direction of true servant leadership that had been shown to him and this continues to this day with those who have, and those that are currently serving as Scoutmaster's in Troop 338.

As much as Dave loved Scouting (an Eagle Scout himself), he dearly loved his wife and family. And in the way he interacted with people, everyone just loved this man. I will truly miss him...but with his faith in Christ, I look forward to seeing Dave again!
