David Torres Obituary
David attended Angelo State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and met his beautiful wife, Tammy. Shortly after graduating, he began his career with Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, and then became store manager in Del Rio, where he dedicated 33 years of service before retiring in March 2023. He later joined San Felipe Del Rio CISD as the Maintenance Coordinator. David was a man held in the highest regard, admired and respected by all who knew him. He was selfless in his service to others and deeply devoted to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe M. Torres Jr. & Eva Suarez Torres, his in laws Daniel J. Hallmark & Nancy Clayton Hallmark, grandparents, Jesus & Aurora Suarez, Guadalupe Torres Sr. & Maria Torres,,and brother-in-laws Rick Labelle & Joe Stephen Mejia.
Survivors left to cherish his life are his beloved wife of 33 years,Tammy Hallmark Torres, daughter Eva Danielle Torres (R.J.), sons David Lee Torres Jr. (Alyssa), & John David Torres (Emily), grandchildren, Aurora Muna, Ava Muna, Valentina Torres and AnaLou Muna, siblings, Jo Elda Hansen (Scott) Guadalupe Torres III (Patty), Robert Lee Torres, Katherine Mejia, Roger Torres(Mary), Ray Torres (Rachel) Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus, at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.
The visitation continues on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM, at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, TX. The mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas.
Pallbearers include Dr. Carlos Rios, Jesus Adams, Gilbert Polanco, Ramiro Frausto, Rick Salgado, Roberto Vasquez Jr.
The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.

My heartfelt condolences to all the family. I have many fond memories. When I use to visit Del Rio awhile back on a regular basis as soon as David would find out I was visiting he would make it a point to come visit me down his brother Chacho's house and and we would all begin an evening filled with laughter late into the night. David was a dear friend. May he rest in peace and may our Lord bless all the family with strength and guidance..
