I'm so saddened hearing of David's passing. He was a cherished childhood friend whose friendship has had a long lasting effect on me. I consider myself musically inclined having been inspired by David. He mastered any instrument he picked up. It seems like he could play with expertise at least 20 instruments. I still to this day can hear him play rag-time blues. I remember marching aside David in the High School marching band dozens of times in parades in Vermont. I remember when we decided to start a brass band called "Cold Turkey." With David on trumpet, Robert Hollenbeck on sax, Brian Conger on drums, and Robert Morgan and myself on trombone. The Cold Turkey band played at multiple venues in a few counties in Vermont. David taught me the basics in electronics, he could diagnose and repairs electronic circuits. We've hiked a couple hundred miles together, hiking the Long Trail in Vermont a week at a time. We camped at least a dozen weekends as Boy Scouts and as friends each year throughout our teen years. We took snowmobiles or hiked to remote locations in the mountains for a week of winter vacation throughout High School. We were Scouts, whether when doing community improvement projects, or just in our daily moral compass. David's father Orien taught us skills so we could earn our merit badges. To this day the lessons from David and Orien stay with me. If I haven't yet made it clear, again, David Tulp was a good friend who had a life long influence on me. David, may the Lord have favor on you, may His face shine upon you and give you peace. Thank you for your friendship.

We, the family of USAT, will miss David greatly. We appreciated his talents in providing the smooth sound system in all our graduations. He also helped out in many other ways to make the operations of the medical school run smoothly, especially at our graduations, and many other times as well. But beyond this, he was simply a great guy and a good friend. He had a warm, kind personality that made you feel good when you were with him, just as his father has. I know all the professors and staff will miss him greatly.

The first thing that comes to me as David saying is, "I don't know what all the fuss is about" in regards to his own passing. Over the years I came to know David pretty well, as he kept a lot to himself, which took a few years before he shared things. I'll remember him as a friend and super talented guy. Ill remember him dressed in his favorite attire he enjoyed as he did his thing. Well my Friend, we never did make that month trip to the island, but I think you are doing OK. Give me a ranchers and we'll catch up. RIP my friend!

Dr. Orien Tulp: My deepest condolences on the lost of your son. Though I have never met David, I have met his father who is a gentle soul with a caring and open heart. May your grief be soft in knowing that David is no longer suffering and he is singing with the Angels. Keep a warm light burning for him.

Dear David, we of the USAT family will all miss you greatly. Your flawless sound management and production at the commencement ceremonies will be remembered by the thousands of graduates over the years, especially your seamless transition of 'Pomp and Circumstance' to 'Hot Hot Hot' theme song during the processional. That really got the commencement off on a great foot, we were all dancing in our seats. The music and sound production was the best ever. The entire USAT family of friends and family, USAT, Olveston Montserrat, British West Indies.
