David Alan Twigg, 88, "Dave" "Grampa-Toyz", was a resident of St. Francisville, LA died on Tuesday, February 4, 2026 at his home. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served for over 27 years. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sylvia Jean Twigg; step-daughter Michelle Spencer of St. Francisville; two sons: William Ira Twigg and his wife Sylvia Twigg of Reno, Nevada; Daniel Chester Twigg of San Francisco, California; three grandchildren: Sabrina Spencer, Grant Spencer, and Hayden Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Lee Twigg. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during Vietnam. He was a veteran volunteer, member of the Fleet Reserve, as well as a proud member of the US Submarine Veterans Group of Baton Rouge. He worked with handicapped children at the Bonita Vista High School in Chula Vista, Ca. He loved woodworking and carpentry and enjoyed making wooden toys. He also had a great love model trains. Dave loved his grandchildren, wife, and took pride in his service to his country.

Dear Sylvia and family,

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at David´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. Dave served with honor on the USS Macon CA-132, USS Redfin SS-272, USS Andrew Jackson SSBN-619, USS Kamehameha SSBN-642, USS Bon Homme Richard CV-31, and USS Proteus AS-19.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
