He was born on December 23, 1952, resided in Albuquerque, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He departed this life on February 4, 2026, at the age of 73. Sgt. David Norris Vasquez, USMC (Ret.), served our great country as a marine for seven years in Quantico, Virginia, and Hawaii,
David is survived by his beloved wife, Linda L. Vasquez, whom he married on September 19, 1975, and remained happily married for 50 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Hopelynn Vasquez and Elizabeth Vasquez and wife, Gloria; two granddaughters, Delaynee and Aryanna Vasquez; brothers-in-law, Charles Garza, Anthony Garza, Joseph Garza, and Hector Garcia; sisters-in-law, Barbara Garza and Joyce Garza; godson, Anthony (Jessica) Garza; nieces, Felicia (Ernest) Cervantes, Rose Garza, and Ruth Garza; and nephews, Joseph (Olivia) Garza, Daniel Garza, Raymond (Monet) Garza, and Mateo (Tatianna) Garza.
He was preceded in death by his father, Erasmo S. Vasquez; mother, Maria (Ama) Vasquez; mother-in-law, Dora B. Garza; brother-in-law, Ernest Vallejos, and sister-in-law, Carol Garcia.
David loved to craft leather and play his guitar. His favorite book was "Jonathan Livingston Seagull," by Richard Bach. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle and will be terribly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, 7:00 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold Ave. SE, with a reception to follow. Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
