David Robert Vender

David Robert Vender, 88, passed away peacefully at Logan Health Long Term Care in Conrad on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Dave was born September 1, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Elwin and Edna Vender. He had an older brother, Bud, and an older half sister, Edith.

Dave loved sports and participated in football, basketball, and baseball growing up. He graduated from high school in Hastings, MI. Dave attended college at Western Michigan and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Dave was married, had a son, Cory, and later divorced. He taught in Whittier, CA for three years before moving back to Hasting, MI where he taught Junior High School math and retired after 30 years of teaching.

Moving to Montana was one of the best decisions he made. He loved hunting and fishing and the great outdoors. While living at Blue Sky Villa in Conrad Dave garnered many lifelong friends and was frequently seen walking around the community he loved dearly, visiting with all those he encountered.

Years ago, Dave established a scholarship fund to pay for student’s college books. He treasured youth and their education.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his son, Cory, from Ohio.

At Dave’s request no services will be held, and his cremains will be spread on the Blackfoot River near Lincoln, MT.
