It's hard to believe David has been gone 2 years already. Our lives, however long they may seem, are just a short time in God's eyes. We will all soon be with Dave and the rest of our loved ones in the room above. May God bless and comfort us as we continue our journey here on earth.

Jayne, it was with great sadness we heard of Dave's passing. He has been a good friend for many years and leaves many fond memories that I will cherish. You and the family have our deepest sympathy. Knowing he is with God doesn't relieve the pain but does provide great comfort.

Dear Jayne and family, Today, while I worshipped at CommPres, I read that Dave had died. I am so sad for you and the VerLee family and I am sad for me, too. You and Dave were always bright spots for me as part of the CommPres family and while I did not see you lots after I moved north again, I always kept track as best I could via Facebook. We are very sad to learn of Dave's passing. He was a good friend and active member of the board of VCY (Youth for Christ) in Flint many years ago. Our deepest sympathy to the family he was a wonderful person.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Dr Verlee. He was my mother, Dorothy Ragnone's doctor for many years. He was so nice to her and provided great care in her treatment. My mom used to say that she was so blessed to have doctor and friend like Dr Verlee. He was truly a wonderful man. I will keep Dr Verlee and all of you in my prayers. How well do we remember the good times we had with you two at Tulip Time. It was an extreme pleasure to work with you and become friends with David. Our sympathy is with you during this difficult time. He will be missed.

Dave was one of my favorite family members -- he always brought a smile to my face whenever I saw him -- what a great guy! We will all miss him greatly, but Heaven will be more fun because he's already there!

To the family and friends of Dr. David Verlee:

Please accept my sincere condolences in the wake of Dr. Verlee's death. I so fondly remember interviewing him many times on my evening radio talk show in Flint, Michigan. Not only was Dr. Verlee a fine care giver, but he also gave back! He told me many stories of trips to third world countries to provide free ophthalmological care for needy people. He truly had a compassionate heart and cared deeply for his patients. He was indeed a fine physician, but in my estimation even a better human being. During my career in journalism I have interviewed many doctors. Dr. Verlee stands out in my mind as one that was truly remarkable.

Godspeed to his soul.

Dr. Verlee was my childhood, into young adulthood, opthamologist when Dr. Barbour retired (the Drs. Diskin now run this practice). What a kind and gentle man! My best to his family at this sad time.

My sympathy to the entire family. I knew Dave since I was quite young and visiting my cousins Marilyn and Karilyn Beckering who lived 2-3 houses away on Everest. Then again at U of M. He was such a wonderful Christian man. What a legacy he has left for his family and friends. May you find comfort in your faith, family, and friends.
