David Walker Obituary

David Walker, 84, passed away April 16, 2024, at the Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte, Neb.

David Allen Walker was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Custer County to Robert H. and Laura O. (Brown) Walker. He spent his childhood in the Broken Bow area and received his education at area country schools and Sargent High School.

Dave served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a man of many trades. Dave farmed with his dad, worked as ranch hand and operated a lawn and pasture spraying business.

Dave loved his family and attending family reunions. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Zack and Shelby Walker of Hersey; daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Dean Schlechter; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law Bill Walker of Arthur and Daniel and Kathy Walker of Reno, Nev.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law Lee and Lowell Cossarrt of Donna, Texas, Donna Seeger of Lorida, Fla., Linda Shepard of Loup City, Sharon and Fred Ohmberger of Burwell and Beverly and Bob Mattingly of Kimberling, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Robert, Donald and Leonard Walker; and sister Bonnie Wiley.

To honor David's wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest in the Kilfoil Cemetery at Merna. Still Waters Funeral Parlor of Burwell is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.ordmemorialchapel.com
