Not sure what to say?

Was at a 9/11 memorial today in North Tonawanda and my wife and I purchased a flag and it had David's name and a message about him. I just wanted to say his memory and the memory of all those we lost on that fateful day will live on in our household.

I only met David one time at a concert in Long Island. So this was the guy who Marcia smiled about at work. It was a good night. I don't know why the memory of them together stuck with me, but I've thought of them and their daughter often over the last 10 years. Here is to peace and the good memories. 9-10-2011

It has been a long time since i was in touch with David and Marcia, and tonight I went looking for a thread to connect us. I often think of David, he was a remarkable husband and a solid, if quiet, friend. In the mid-80s he took me a monster truck rally at the Garden - a event I will never forget. I wouldn't have chosen to go, but I had to see what he found so compelling about it - and he won me over. It was a great night.

I miss you all.

I am David's niece Pamela. My father and David are brothers. It has been eight years since this autrocity and I still cannot watch footage of the day. The thing I remember most about my uncle was the way he stood, with his hands clasped behind his back and a smile on his face- the kind of smile that told me he was thinking about something great- perhaps music, perhaps a joke he heard. Regardless- this is how I chose to remember him. My eldest daughter is named for David and the funny thing is, she stands like that sometimes- hands clasped behind her back- some mischief behind her smile. It comforts me to know there is a part of him in her. I am sorry most for the memories we did not get to make. He lives on in our hearts.

I have a braclet with davids name. I don't have the words to tell you how sorry I am. I know there isn't anything I can do but pray for his family. Wearing the braclet makes me feel like I know him somehow. Even if I am our here in the midwest. I cried and prayed for all of you that awful day. God Bless

To the family of Mr. Weiss:

I wish there was something to say to console you. Perhaps that David's sacrifice taught us all something about who we need to be. His memory is a blessing. Thank you.

I am very sorry for such a great loss of a wonderful man. Thank you for sharing a part of his life with us by allowing us to read about him. His daughter's name Gina Rose sounds very reflective in how he lived life (Beautifully and with much meaning)

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I knew David from Fulbright. He was the most wonderful person I have ever met. I was so very sad when I learned that was lost in the tragedy. I remember when he and Marcia were first expecting and I teased him about all the take-outs they did. He said the baby would have to get used to pizza on Monday, Chinese on Tuesday, etc. I remember how much he loved to ride his bike when they went to Woodstock on weekends. My heart goes out to his family.

My Prayers continue for your family and loved ones. It has now been almost 2 months since the tragedy but my heart still aches for your incredible loss. If only I had the words to comfort you.

I have this image of a great snowball fight one night on the street in Brookyn. I can see his rosey cheeks clearly in my mind....He was truly special. He put lots of smiles on my face. He will always be in my heart. Thanks David. Sandi

I am a registered nurse at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. Words cannot express the way I am feeling about this tragic attack. I am constantly watching the news in hopes that there could be a miracle. Here at the hospital we are wearing black ribbons with victims names on them. I am wearing the name of David Thomas Weiss. My thoughts go out to all that were effected by this terrible act.
