David Whitehill Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 16, 2025.
The family of David (Dave) Joseph Whitehill is deeply saddened to announce his passing on August 16, 2025, at the age of 56.

A lifelong Minnesota resident, Dave is survived by his best friend and wife of 30 years, Lisa Martinetto; his parents, Marjorie and Terrell Whitehill; his mother-in-law, Cheryl Martinetto; his sisters, Jeanne Whitehill (Heidar Mehran), Joan Narlock (Brian), and Donna Whitehill; his brother-in-law, Jason Martinetto (Jennifer Walden); his nephews, Alex and Tony Narlock; and many cherished family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his cribbage partner and father-in-law, John Martinetto.

Dave's battle with cancer was defined by incredible bravery. Despite enduring chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and long hospital stays, he maintained his humor and gave everything he had to keep going. Together, Dave and Lisa faced the fight as a united team, with Lisa always by his side.

Dave was a loyal soul who showed love through quiet actions and made everyone feel appreciated. He will be remembered fondly for his sharp wit and great sense of humor. With an amazing memory, he could come up with one hit wonders and recite movie lines like no one else.

When he wasn't working at Cub Foods, he loved rooting for the Green Bay Packers, going to live music shows, and traveling the world. Whether it was riding motorbikes in Vietnam, speeding down water slides in the Bahamas, or enjoying a music festival in Montana, he was always ready for an adventure as long as Lisa was with him.

Per his wishes, there will be no service. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or an organization of your choice.
