David E. Wiese, age 78 of Indianapolis passed away on Monday morning, May 19, 2025.
David was born on August 18, 1946 in Indianapolis, a son and only child of Floyd Franklin and Margaret (Galante) Wiese.
David married Paula Medley on May 3, 1969 in Indianapolis. His wife Paula preceded him in death on February 28, 2021.
David is survived by two daughters: Heather (Kevin Foster) Cary of Indianapolis and Jennie (Kurt) Sloop of Washington, D.C.
Grandchildren: Austin (Cassie) Cary, Mason (Darian) Cary, Ella Jean Sloop, Audrey Lynn Sloop, plus five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
His funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Private entombment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery where David will be laid to rest with his wife Paula.
David grew up on the West side of Indianapolis. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in the class of 1965. After serving in the United States Amry for 4 years, he furthered his education at Sam’s Technical School. Throughout his professional career he worked as a service technician for Xerox.
Throughout life David enjoyed many things. He loved music and was in many bands over the years. One of his greatest passions was playing guitar. He loved fishing and was an avid lure collector. He and Paula enjoyed visiting Lake of the Ozarks for yearly fishing trips. He also cherished his trips with his fishing buddies.
Most importantly David was a loving husband, father, papa, family member and friend to many. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
