Dr. David Colton Wilcox 48, went home to be with his Savior July 29, 2006, after sustaining a ruptured brain aneurysm. He was a faithful son of God and served as a Deacon at Jesus the Messiah Church. David was a loving son of Robert Wilcox and Joyce Allman, an indescribably wonderful husband to his devoted wife Vicki, a loving father to Kyle, Katherine, Kristen, Josh and Ai, a special and protective brother to his sister, Linda, and a loyal friend to many. He was an Associate Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine where he specialized in Geriatrics. He practiced at Wishard Memorial Hospital and was Medical Director of Lockefield Village. David was a humble and compassionate physician who genuinely cared for his patients. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2006 1 p.m. at Jesus the Messiah Church at 2215 Country Club Road, Indianapolis, IN, and visitation will be held there Tuesday, August 1st 3-9 p.m. and Wednesday one hour before the service. The burial will follow the service at West Ridge Park Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions be made to Jesus the Messiah Church Youth Center, envelopes will be available at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan-Decatur. Family and friends are encouraged to share with the family by signing the online guestbook at:

It was a pleasure working with Dr.Wilcox for such a short period of time. He was a JOY to be around. He will be greatly missed!

I knew Dave for many years - first as a resident and then as a faculty colleague. He will be missed by his colleagues and his patients. My condolences to you.

I remember Dr Wilcox when he was a resident at Wishard Hospital over 20 years ago. He was one of the kindest doctors to his patients.His family and colleages have my deepest sympathy.
