Warren-McElwain Mortuary & Cremation Services - Lawrence ChapelDavid S Wooding, Jr, 43 passed away December 7, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born in Wichita, KS, the son of David and Mary (Connolly) Wooding, on April 26, 1982.
He studied at the University of Kansas and then Culinary school. His training as a chef took him from restaurants in Crested Butte, CO and Wichita, KS before becoming the chef on a private yacht - splitting time between West Palm Beach and Annapolis, MD.
He is survived by his parents; sisters, Katie Wooding (Tom Vandermause), Laurie Wooding (Wayne Zimmerman), brother/cousin Chris Hultine (Anne) and their children Zoey and Jack, Cousins Jake Harmon, Stacy Patterson (Bobby), Kamille Boyer, Elizabeth Gutschenritter (Luke); Robert Boyer, Skyler Patterson; Aunt Joyce, cousins Liselle, Nicky and Matt Wooding; Grandmother Theresa Connolly; Aunts Donna Hultine (Michael), Sheila Connolly (Suz Morrissey), Sharon Desbien (David), Perri Tapley (Olin); Uncles John Connolly (Stephen Maceli), Michael Connolly (Robin); and too many friends to name, but you know who you are.
No formal services are planned but the family will host a celebration of life from 4-6 p.m. on December 23 in Lawrence at Arterra 2161Quail Creek Dr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Just Food or Big Dogs Huge Paws and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
David would always return the shopping cart-a testament to his character. He was a good man, a loving son and brother, and a good friend to all who knew him.
