David Charles Wright also known as "Scooter" age 66, of Crossville, Al was called home by his lord and savior on Friday, September 19, 2025 in Toms Brook, VA. David was born on September 13, 1959 to the late Joseph Sidney Wright and Lorna June Wright. David enlisted in the US Army to service his country as a tank driver. He later made his way from Michigan to Georgia. Where he was a truck driver. He went to classes later to learn how to do wood floors and he was so proud of this accomplishment, and to work with his best friend Keith. He then spent many years as a manual machinist at Eaton Aeroquip. Then he made his way from Georgia to Alabama where he finished out his years as a truck driver. David was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. There wasn't much he couldn't fix or rig up something as he would say. He absolutely loved his lord and savior. He was baptized on August 5, 2007 at Toms Creek Baptist Church. He loved to go fishing, He loved to be the life of the party. He always knew how to make anyone laugh by making all kinds of jokes. His smile and laugh has always been so contagious. He enjoyed watching documentaries and all kind of war movies. He truly enjoyed driving a 18-wheeler with his faithful companion Levi. He truly enjoyed seeing Gods beautiful scenes all throughout the United States. In addition to his parent's he is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Wright; and bonus son, Nathan Garrett. David is survived by his wife, Donna Patton Wright of Crossville, Al; his children, Julie (Sandy) Cureton of Toccoa, GA, Kelley Ballard of Michigan, Gracie Garrett of Toccoa, GA; his bonus children, Stacy (Monica) Golden of Mouton, Scott (Jackie) Golden of Cumming, GA; his siblings, Johnny Pittaway of Auburn Hills, MI, Larry (Bonnie) Pittaway of Grayling MI, Janice Sluder of Nesbit, MS, Lynn (Russ) Perkins of West End, NC; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and our cherished Matriarch Marlene Harrington of MI; and one special friend Keith Pressley.
