David Michael Yakes, age 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 1:25 pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life.

David was born on July 12, 1953, in Hannibal, Missouri and is the son of Marvin Yakes and Bonnie Yohn.

Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany (Cale) Kent of Hannibal, MO, Casey (John) Yakes-Langen; two sons, Brandon Yakes, Derek Yakes; four brothers, Ronald Foster, Stanley (Cara) Foster, William "Doug" Yakes, Tim Yakes; two nieces, Nicole (Daniel) Tutor, Krista Saben; two nephews, Michael Yakes, Aaron (Trisha) Yakes; one granddaughter, Eleanor Langen; five grandsons, Riley Langen, Brady Langen, Colby Langen, Jacob Kent, Kaston Kent, many great nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog "Buster".

David was preceded in death by his parents .

David honorably served his country in the US Marines and was stationed in Okinawa from 1970-1972 .

Professionally David worked as a carpenter and painted bridges.

In David's free time, he enjoyed playing his guitar, making wonderful melodies, and he enjoyed building different things. David also loved to spend time with his family and his beloved dog "Buster".
