Dawn Lee Crabtree

Dawn Lee Crabtree, 54, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her residence. Born May 27, 1971, in Highland, IL, Dawn dedicated her life to caring for others. She had worked as a home health caretaker, always offering compassion, dignity, and kindness to those in need. Her giving spirit extended beyond her profession. She was known for her charitable heart and often opened her home to those experiencing homelessness. Dawn found joy in simple things. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending quiet moments reading, especially the Bible, and being surrounded by her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL, and Women of Christian Faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Eardley. Dawn is survived by her mother, Diane (nee Ulrich) Eardley; her husband, Mark Crabtree, whom she married on July 29, 2016, after sharing 14 years together; and her son, Brandon Eardley of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by three sisters: Erica (John) Gilbert of Edwardsville, IL; Susan Kuykendall of Edwardsville, IL; and Jacquline (Eric) Hegger of Equality, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 with Rev. Kenny Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
