Dawn Felisicia "Poopie" Holifield (née Jarrett) passed away on February 14, 2024, in
Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 52. She was born on June 21, 1971, in
Decatur, Illinois, to Erma Jean Jarrett and Lafayette Taylor.
Poopie, as she was affectionately known, was a loving wife to Tony Holifield and a devoted mother to a blended family to Jamila & Jasmine Holifield, Samuel & Falina Jimerson. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her mother Erma Jean Jarrett, father Lafayette Taylor, in-laws Willie and Roberta Moore, and siblings Melissa Baker, Quintin Jarrett, Eric Wynne, Terrance Tyus, and Quantrell Evay Càlmese.
Felisicia was preceded in death by her grandparents Roscoe and Willie Lou Jarrett, uncle Roscoe Jarrett, Jr., aunt Ora Lee Jarrett, uncle Eddie Charles Jarrett, and brother Byron Craig Eugene Hood.
She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1989 and furthered her education at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories with her family and the numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who were near and dear to her.
The memory of Felisicia's infectious laughter, warm smile, and generous spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
