Dawn Ross

Dawn Elizabeth "Duckie" Ross Dawn Elizabeth "Duckie" Ross, 18, of Louisa County, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013, along side her boyfriend, Derrick E. Burford. Dawn, born on June 8, 1994, was a lifelong resident of Louisa, and volunteered at the Louisa Moose Lodge #2065 for many events. Survivors include her father, Mark P. Ross Sr.; grandparents, Millie Ross of Louisa, and Herbert Gene and Elliewood Dorman of Albemarle; brothers, Andrew Blake Ross and wife, Mary, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Mark Preston Ross Jr. of Shady Grove, Maryland; sisters, Lanessa Brown of Charlottesville, Brittny Ross of Pittsburgh, Marenia and Cynthia Ross of Louisa, and Dakota Bogart of Albemarle; and many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Ollie Sprouse and Selesse Rebecca Summitt; grandfather, Leonard Ross; aunt, Nancy Pruitt; cousins, Charles Pruitt, Christina Garr and Nevaeh Beason; uncle, Bobby Pruitt; and sister, Katrina Lynn Brown. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Woodward Funeral Home. A service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at New Life Community Church. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
