COOKEVILLE CHAPEL- Mr. Hoyt Dean Peoples, age 79, and his beloved wife, Wilma Lee Peoples, age 76, of South Pittsburg, TN died suddenly on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at their residence.
Mr. Dean was born in New Hope, TN on April 18, 1946 to the late Leonard and Dorothy Blevins Peoples.
He graduated from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville before a career with the TVA, where he retired.
Mrs. Wilma was born in Jasper, TN to the late James Fred and Mary Ovene Belk Dawson.
Mrs. Peoples graduated from Marion County High School before going to work. Of all her titles, homemaker was her favorite.
The People's just celebrated 58 years of marriage, having been married since September 16, 1967. Together, Dean and Wilma lived a wonderful life together and raised their loving son, James Vince Peoples, who will miss them very much.
There are no services planned at this time and wishes for cremation are being honored.
