Dean Berger Obituary
Dean was the most loving and kind person you could ever know. He lived to take care of his family and his friends, of which there were many. Everyone he met was a friend. He was born in Van Nuys, California and lived in Chatsworth or Simi Valley most of his adult life. But that was just his home base, he loved to travel and certainly in his 47 years or more of working in the alcohol and spirits industry he did that. So many people called him friend.
Diane and Dean were married for 47 years, and no one loved him more than Diane. Although like many of us there were times he tried your patience, but it was always because he needed to help a friend. He was always happy and positive and willing to help in any way. He was a great coordinator. He would call on all of his friends to help others he knew could benefit from their expertise.
He was so very proud of his family. His son's Gregory and Michael were everything to both him and Diane. They have grown up to be such kind and giving adults like their parents. He has also left behind his sisters, sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews that he loved so very much.
There are not enough ways to describe how really special Dean Berger was and what a wonderful and joyful man we have lost in this world. He was a blessing to all of us. Our world will never be the same.

To my wonderful friend, Dean Berger, whom I've known for 65 years. Thank you for being like a brother to me and having my back when we were growing up, attending Shirley Ave, Sutter Jr High, and Reseda High together. You've been a wonderful friend and you will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known you. Love and miss you, my friend and RIP.

Decades ago, Dean & I worked together on the Board of a parents organization at the Phoenix Ranch School. During meetings & events, he always had a big welcoming smile on his face. On the rare occasions we ran into each other well after the kids had grown, he still would always extend happy greetings as if we were long lost friends. Good memories. Deepest condolences to Diane and "the Berger boys". Such a tough loss, gone too young.

My deepest condolences go the family of Dean Berger. I have worked with him for about 11 years at Pacific Edge Wine & Spirits. it was such a surprise 11 years ago when I began to reacquaint with Dean who my twin sister an I went to Reseda High with.
I loved working with Dean and he would always keep me up to date on our classmates.
I truly feel an emptiness that cannot be filled.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, he was a very special person i am going to miss.

Dean was one of the most genuine people I've had the pleasure to know. We worked together for over 20 years from opposite parts of the country. It was always a joy to come to California and work with Dean. He made work fun, while building and maintaining relationships he created for our mutual business. He will be dearly missed.
I'm proud to say, "He was a great friend."
