Dean Jansen Everitt (Jan), 89, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was born on December 30, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia. During his senior year of high school, his family relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, where he graduated from Dreher High School in 1955.

He went on to attend The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he was a proud member of the Summerall Guard and Delta Company. He graduated in 1959 and shortly thereafter served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

On July 11, 1959, he married Sarah Mildred Jones (Millie), with whom he shared a devoted and enduring marriage. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work.

He is survived by a son, Mark Jansen Everitt (Tomoko), daughter, Christine Overstreet-Smith (Carter), grandsons, Paul Overstreet (Alexis), and Max and Chance Everitt, and sister, Susan Everitt Airth (Colonel).

A lifelong Episcopalian, Jan was a devoted member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in College Park, Orlando, where he served in many roles on the altar, including chalice bearer and subdeacon.

Jan began his career with the Buick Motor Division, based in Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as Southeast Regional Sales Manager. He later worked in various management positions in retail automobile sales before opening a successful real estate business in Orlando, Florida.

An avid and accomplished amateur golfer, he competed in the United States Senior Amateur Championship in 1997, a highlight of his lifelong passion for the game.

From 1999 to 2013, Jan and Millie spent five months of each year in their cherished home in Maggie Valley, North Carolina-a place that held deep meaning for them and many fond memories.

Jan's life was marked by faith, service, and devotion to those he loved. He will be missed.

A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Orlando, Florida. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Baldwin Brothers Cremation and Funeral Society, Orlando, FL.
